Faberge Museum Tour

We'll meet at 7 pm at the Faberge Museum entrance, located on the banks of the Fontaka River. This St. Petersburg museum is housed in a majestic 18th-century neoclassical palace, the perfect setting to display the valuable collection of Easter eggs and royal jewels created by the prestigious goldsmith Carl Fabergé.

As we tour the museum rooms, we'll see over 4000 objects that the Fabergé company created for the Russian imperial family. The tsars were great lovers of ostentation and precious materials, and their day-to-day life was full of objects that demonstrated this.

In the Fabergé Museum, you'll find gold-plated tea sets, fans decorated with diamonds, watches made of precious stones, jewellery boxes that belonged to important Russian nobles, music boxes and many other valuable items. Furthermore, during the guided tour we'll reveal the history of this famous goldsmith and how he went from being a humble jeweller to working for the Tsars.

The most interesting part of the tour will come when we take a close look at the famous Fabergé Easter eggs. Why were they created? How many are there in the world? How were they recovered? We'll find out! The Fabergé Museum exhibits 9 eggs that belonged to the families of Alexander III and his son Nicholas II, the last two Tsars of Russia.

After spending 90 minutes exploring the museum, the guided tour will end.
